Cassandra Lane is a portrait and wedding photographer, originally from the West Country, now living in Manchester. She studied Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster and gained a 1st class degree before setting up Cassandra Lane Photography in 2011.
"I describe my style as alternative wedding photography because my shots are joyful, colourful and bold as well as being a little bit quirky. My approach on a wedding day is relaxed and informal as I want you to feel comfortable with my presence, as if I was just another guest. Even if you are camera shy, you can have beautiful, natural wedding photographs that illustrate what a brilliant time you had. I enjoy weddings because I find people so interesting and you can often find me chatting with guests or on the dance floor with the bridesmaids as I’m snapping away."
Her wedding photography work has been featured in some of the UK’s most popular publications and wedding blogs such as Rock My Wedding, Love My Dress, Rock n Roll Bride & Wedding Ideas Magazine.

Cassandra Lane is amazing!
If you are thinking of booking Cass for your wedding photographer, do it!
She was our wedding photographer & she was simply fantastic - funny, warm & expertly handled 65 inebriated guests! Her photos are so lovely, better than I could've ever hoped & perfectly capture the happiest day of our lives.
Thank you so much Cass! Jane & John. X x

My husband and I got engaged in May 2015 and when we began planning our wedding I immediately thought of Cass to be the wedding photographer. I had seen Cass work at a friend’s wedding and she’d captured their day so perfectly that I knew she was the right choice for us.
We couldn’t be happier with the service we have received from Cass; she has been phenomenal. Our first meeting with her in Manchester was very informal and relaxed and she provided us with some great advice and even brought samples of photographs from my friend’s wedding, illustrating the personal connection she develops with the people she works with.
On the day itself, Cass arrived early to photograph the wedding preparations. She was so sociable and really helped to create a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. It was a great start to a wonderful day and Cass captured every aspect perfectly despite the heavens opening during the ceremony. She made great use of the beautiful surroundings at Eyam Hall and has managed to produce some lovely, creative photographs that didn’t look like we were in the midst of a late July monsoon! The most difficult thing has been narrowing down our favourites for the album.
Both me and my husband are a bit awkward in front of the camera but Cass made us feel very relaxed and she created some wonderful photographs that really do encapsulate our relationship and the perfect day we had.
Out of every service we hired for the wedding, the one that all of our family and friends have commented on is Cass. Everyone agreed that she felt more like a guest at the wedding than a photographer and once we’d received our wedding photos a lot of the guests commented on her ninja-like skills of capturing candid moments without anyone realising.
We would definitely recommend Cass to anyone looking for a friendly and highly skilled photographer who would be a great addition to any wedding or event.

Had a 1-2-1 photography lesson with Cass a few weeks ago and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it!
I'm such a novice, but wanted to learn more about both photography and how to use my camera. Cass was fantastic and patient with me, and I left the session feeling a lot more confident in using my camera - even in manual mode. I would certainly recommend Cass for anyone else wanting to get into photography, I'm sure she'd be great at all levels.
The session was very comfortable and she answered all questions in great detail. I've been back to her with more questions after and she's been more than helpful.

My wife and I got married in Central Park, NYC last year. As the actual ceremony was small, we decided to have a party with all of our friends and family once we returned to England.
Cassandra was the perfect person to capture this night. We met up with her before the event, and got on so well. She had actually photographed weddings at the same venue previously, and so was really aware of how to work the surroundings.
Since the actual wedding had already happened, there was no first dance, no cutting of the cake, and no speeches. Despite not having these go-to photo opportunities that most photographers probably love, Cassandra captured everything so well. She photographed absolutely everyone at the party, and got a lovely combination of group shots and candid ones. At least four of our guests have had their shots printed and framed since!
What really stood out for us was the variety of shots she took. She captured so many details (close ups of the hotel street sign, flowers etc.) that I anticipate, without photo evidence of, would be forgotten in ten or twenty years.
Having seen Cassandra’s work on other weddings, as well as our own night, I have no doubt there’s an event she couldn’t capture beautifully. I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a charming and brilliant photographer.

Cass went down an absolute storm on our wedding day. Other than the bride she was the most talked about part of our day by guests we've seen since we got married.
This is because she's brilliant at what she does. She understood what it was my wife and I were looking for from our photographer and she did everything possible to ensure that we got the memorable photographs of the day that we wanted. Whether that was walking around Manchester city centre with us for the more urban type photographs we wanted, mingling with our guests on the dance floor to get some great shots of family and friends enjoying themselves or waiting until the sun went down so that my wife and I could get a picture together with our wedding venue lit up in the background. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she embraced and blended in with the day remarkably.
Couldn't recommend Cass enough.
