You've possibly already organised the venue, dress, cake and even the car. Just the wedding photographer to go... Simon Young lives in Gloucester and have been photographing weddings in Gloucester, Cheltenham and around Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and the Cotswolds for more than ten years.
"As a keen photographer, I found the work fascinating and after a while decided to give up work and create a lifestyle for myself revolving around my passion for people and photography. Wedding and other forms of social photography was the obvious choice and I have loved every moment of it. As well as taking photographs, I teach photography and coach other professional photographers. My favourite days are those spent at weddings. If you’re looking for someone that will have a bit of fun with your guests and make the time spent on photographs enjoyable rather than painful, I’d love to hear from you."

Simon is an amazing photographer and trainer. A few years ago I trained with Simon and was instantly struck by his friendliness and ability to put people at ease. He has an in depth knowledge not only of photography, but is also a master of understanding what motivates individuals and groups. What more could you ask for from a wedding photographer? Great technical skill but with empathy and understanding of what you would want on your big day! If I knew Simon ten years ago, he would certainly be my wedding photographer of choice. In fact, I am going to dust off my wedding dress and tag my husband and children along for Simon to capture some post wedding pictures a decade down the line. Highly recommended!

Simon did our wedding photography a couple of years ago and I simply cannot fault him or his skills.
My husband and I had a clear vision of what we wanted from our photos and Simon absolutely nailed it! The photos were stunning and we had a really hard time choosing which ones to put up in the house!
Simon is such a character and became a huge part of our day; making people laugh and chatting to family and friends.
He gave me tips and advice, in the run up to the big day, and made all our guests feel completely at ease.
We could not have asked for anything more!
We still keep in touch and would even class Simon as a friend.
If there was a 10 out of 5 rating, I would give it!

One word that would some up our experience with Simon - Magnificent!
We chose Simon to take our wedding photos after he was recommended to us. One our first meeting Simon took the time to explain who he was and the type of photography that he is capable of - and he is VERY capable!
We felt at ease with him immediately and found that after our 20 minute meeting with him we could fully trusted him to take the best possible photos to show just how special our wedding would be to the 2 of us.
A few weeks before the big day, my wife and I went with Simon to the wedding venue to establish the areas to take photos on the day and came up with backup plans should there have been any bad weather on the day.
On the big day Simon turned up about Mid-morning and didn't put his camera down until well into the evening!!! I, along with every other person who attended the wedding commented on how impressed they were with Simon professional yet friendly attitude. I think most people used the word amazing at least once when they described him!
Our photos were amazing and we would like to thank Simon ever so much for ensuring that our photo album is one to be proud of!
To sum up, there are cheaper and more expensive photographers out there but you will not find someone who is as enthusiastic and who has such a friendly and outgoing personality, he really did make our day!! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

As a fellow photographer how could I help but choose Simon as the photographer from my son's wedding.
He did the perfect job that I expected, covered everything our son and his wife wanted - including a lot of impromptu moments. He covered the wonderful setting of the Bodliean library perfectly.

During our wedding preparations we realised there were two important things (apart from the obvious) we needed to get right. The band and the photographer. Whilst the former gives you the immediate thrills on the day, the latter captures all those memories so you can remember them long into married life. In Simon we could not have picked a better photographer for this task, he not only captured the essence of our day, he did so with such enthusiasm that it rubbed off on to all of our guests.
The great thing about Simon is that he really gets to know you as a couple which not only put our nerves to rest but also meant that he knew exactly what kind of shots to capture on the day. This attention does not only last for the day of the wedding, he is also extremely professional and attentive when it comes to going through the photos afterwards and making sure they look as great as possible. Whether that is from the way he treats each individual photo like it is as important as the last or the fact he provides you with a glass or amazing Red wine and the most delightful homemade cookies (A Thank you must go to his wife there i think!).
My wife and I would happily and enthusiastically recommend him to not only our friends but anyone else we don't know who is looking for someone to capture the happiest day of their life! Thank you so much Simon for all of your hard work, it all paid off with the lovely album we now have!
