Perfect Portmeirion Wedding Photography! Mat Perfectly captured our wedding at St.John's, Porthmadog followed by the reception at Castell Deudraeth, Portmeirion. We really were lucky finding Mat as he was a consumate proffessional, very easy to get along and really put us at ease wih his approach to wedding photography and constant communication throughout and meeting us at the venue before the big day. Our family and friends all commented on how discreet Mat was in terms of managing to get so many shots without really being noticed. Have been to many a wedding where the photographer has been loud, brash and bullish however Mat put everyone at ease and that enabled him to get some really good shots in a reportage style when people were relaxed and the posed for family shots were taken without fuss and bother. Mat knows Portmeirion like the back of his hand as we found out that he was also married in Portmeirion having been raised in Porthmadog. This provided him with a familiarity of the village to get numerous shots of us as a couple in the village and woods, without taking us away from the reception for too long. Despite the long day, we never felt as if Mat was in a rush to finish and he duly captured the cutting of the cake and first dance before leaving for the day. Post wedding, Mat was constantly in touch and his editing of the photos was brilliant - the pictures summed up the story of the day from start to finish. The pictures were really easy to access and one of the key considerations for us when looking for a photographer was that our family and friends have web access to the photos and be able to download and print them if they wanted to. Too many wedding photographers these days have large watermarks on wedding pic galleris and appear to be interested in selling prints to guests. All in all, we would reccommend Mat to photograph a wedding anywhere, but especially at Portmeirion. Our tip to anybody looking for wedding photographers is to consider what you are getting for the money. Bear in mind the communications before and after, bear in mind the time involved meeting before the big day and how much time on the big day itself, and also bear in mind the many hours of editing and putting the pics together. Also bear in mind that a wedding day is eventful enough as it is and how nice it would be to work with someone that we'd genuinely decribe as 'cool'! You want somebody that puts you at ease and is a pleasure to collaborate. If that's what you want - choose Mat! Jon & Lindsey
